Over the last 20+ years, I’ve had an opportunity to be involved in the development of various online and offline businesses. Experience is the best teacher and I’ve learned a lot over the years that I’m happy to pass along.

Learn from the past, so you can change the future… here’s where I’ve been:
- In 1996, after being honorably discharged from my active duty career in the U.S. Army, I became an Investment Rep and opened an Edward Jones Investment office outside of Pittsburgh.
- In 2002, I sold my Edward Jones office to stop selling and start teaching (but I tried to compete with the for Dummies series on topics where I was not an experienced expert – wasn’t the best strategy ;-).
- In 2004, while still following my dream of being an educator and creator, I teamed up with another financial advisor and created a new company called Financial Service Standards. Our goal was to educate and equip 401k advisors with the training and tools needed to build a successful and compliant retirement plan practice.
- We created a training program for advisors as well as a turn-key compliance and service kit. Before we sold the company, we taught 20 live classes and graduated over 2000 advisors from the program, awarding them a retirement designation called the Professional Plan Consultant (PPC). We created an online version of our program which was also hugely successful.
- Our program was the first value-added training ever sponsored by the American Funds for 401k advisors. AND Bank of America private-labeled our document packs for use by their Retirement Solutions Group.
- I’ve been fortunate to launch several successful products in the 401k space over the years, helping thousands of advisors nationwide – you can see some of the products I’ve created on my 401k blog (this link leaves this site and takes you to my 401k blog >>>Products Page.)

In February of 2013, the year we hit a million dollars in revenue, I sold the 401k company and started the Pivirotto Resource Group to continue to help others by providing inspiration, strategies, and resources for success in life and in business.
I run a 401k blog for financial advisors (401kbestpractices.com) where I create products and programs to help them grow and manage their clients.
I’ve been the content manager for Internet Alchemy since 2015 where I help create new products, programs, websites, and resources for entrepreneurs.
And I just started this site in 2018 to document the steps I’m taking as I build a 7-figure Kindle publishing business – so far all I have is my list-building system in place – here’s the site placeholder if you’re interested in checking it out to see how you can start building a list before you even have your website built (that looks like a website but it’s really just an opt-in form/landing page created by leadpages).

- My family is my top priority. I’m happily married to the man of my dreams for over 20 years now and we have two boys of whom we couldn’t be more proud.
- We homeschool our boys and while it can be challenging, it’s definitely worth it.
- I’ve been self-employed since 1995 and have worked out of my home office exclusively since 2008 — I love coaching fellow entrepreneurs on how to create a lifestyle business that allows them to work anywhere.
- I have a chicken in my office. (A real, egg-laying, talkative old hen.)
- I bought my last car on e-bay.
- I’m an animal lover and have 9 pets including dogs, cats, a chicken (yes, she’s a pet), and mice.
- I’m proud to be an American. I served 4 years on active duty in the Army and highly recommend military service in some way, shape or form for all young men and women.
